week 46 Foxconn

very minor yellow tint that i really have to look for (home button end of display)

i had 3ipad airs. The 1st i can't retrieve any information because no serial anymore.

The other 2:

2x week 49 Foxconn.

1x yellow and backlight bleeding
1x yellow

both beyond acceptable

I'm on my 4th rmini.

1st: week 44 (Foxconn) - fine, but returned
2nd: week 47 (Pegatron) - yellow tint on bottom 3rd; exchanged
3rd: week 43 (Foxconn) - yellow tint on bottom 3rd; exchanged
4th: week 43 (Foxconn) - blue hue along edge on top and sides; backlight bleeding in lower left hand corner

I might try to just deal with the blue hue; it's better than a yellow tint and I'm concerned that if I do another exchange, I'll receive another one with with a yellow tint. Plus, Apple employees have looked and treated me like I was a little odd for complaining about the tint. On my first exchange, an Apple employee felt the need to lie to me - he told me that I was receiving an iPad that was made in the US. I said, no it wasn't. He said yes it was, and was made by a technician to ensure that it had no issues. This was in the Burlingame store. I didn't really appreciate being lied to.

Just to understand... Are most only buying from the Apple Store and returning to the Apple Store or are you buying from Walmart, Target, etc and taking them to the Apple Store for exchange?

I think it's both. A return is the preferable route, since you can buy a brand new device, rather than receive a refurb. But if you buy through a reseller, often the only recourse is to do a warranty exchange with Apple.

I don't think he was lying, just stupid ;). So you decide to return the first one (which was fine) and decided to find a "finer" unit?

It was an attempt to pay less than retail plus tax. Probably wasn't worth it.
