Yellow (Minimize) button grayed out

In all finder windows... the Yellow button is grayed out. The only thing I did since it stopped "working" was change a .png file in a widget. (the calculator to be exact).

Whats the deal?

I've had that a few times as well, not only in the Finder but also Word and Safari. Even selecting Window -> Minimize doesn't work when it happens.

This happened to me too. I think what I did was press the green maximize button and then the yellow button reappeared.
