I was hoping you'd be persevere with this until around Sept or Oct time.I'm on my fifth 12 Pro and all have issues with screen, mostly uniformity. All with G9P so there seems to be hard to find good one from those. We have another 12 Pro in our family with G9N screen and it is perfect... So rarity of G9N's and the fact none of the G9P's I've seen were good makes me think if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck... 🙁
I'm done with this.

First of all, the G9N, G9P, or whatever it is, is a serial number for the screen itself and not the device. So even if you wanted to, I don't think they will know. The device serial generally would start with F17, F2, DN, G6, G0, FK.I dunno if genius bars are running where ever you guys are or in general but could you request a g9n and see if they will?
the serial is printed on the Genius Bar phone box

Even if you could request those G9N, etc, it would likely have to be a screen replacement only, even then you could ask but who knows.
You can do it within iPhone too, if you want. No need for additional app to check.good point. My mistake
I dunno what panel mine is I refuse to run 3utools but I’m still elated with my launch unit. Thank god.

I'm curious to know how you find out the screen serial number if you are on a Mac? I know you can find what serial number the screen is if you are a Windoz user.
sweet how
Run sysdiagnose and transfer the logs via iTunes/Finder/AirDrop. Search for raw-panel-id or raw-panel-serial-number in files in the ioreg folder.
It doesn't make a difference, one of my G9N had very bad green tint.Just did the sysdiagnosis. Looks like I have the G9N. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing but My serial number starts with F2 Week 50 build
Yea I know it won't make a difference. At least mine's perfect for my needs. It doesn't make a difference, one of my G9N had very bad green tint.
Yea as long as it's good visually to your eyes should be good. Even with my G9N,Everything is good, no yellow tint, no green tint when it's dark, very good blacks and very uniform. It's just luck I guess.Got a G9P, the one that visually looks great to my eyes. uniformity, good blacks, no green tint, no yellowing.
Seems like this is the 'Samsung generally bad' panel. But not sure how much faith I place in that, may have just won a losing numbers game
iPhone 12 lottery in general seems like a losing game
So is mine, it’s acceptable. Here’s my story on how I ended up getting 4 12PM. First one , intermittent SIM card read error even with new SIM card, second one, lower frame rim edge scratched up, so much so nails would catch it. Third one green tint.Yea I know it won't make a difference. At least mine's perfect for my needs.
Thats all fake news created by delirious posters.saw this post on GSM arena, might've already been mentioned not sure how true
Prefix G9N: Samsung Good Grade panel (Very low chance of being a bad panel).
Prefix G9P: Samsung Poor Grade Panel (Moderate chance of being a bad panel).
Prefix GVC: LG Good Grade Panel (Moderate chance of being a bad panel).
Prefix GH: LG Poor Grade Panel (High chance of being a bad panel).
In terms of panel quality and likelihood for not have a green tint:
Samsung Good > LG Good > Samsung Bad > LG Bad.

Interesting they put LG Good before Samsung Bad serial #, odds wise.
And also interesting the 'poor' panel LG has high chance whereas Samsung 'poor' is only moderate
...if this is a reality, I have no idea. But that to me means there's more LG lemons by this logic.
Still probably lots of lemons of both types to go around, and excellent of both, and poor ones that pass flying colors like mine, and 'good grade' that fail every test, and same with LG.
it's fun to learn mine is Samsung. but if I learnt it were LG, I would still sing my praises about this particular panel. Months later, its still a beauty!
