Ive got a 11 Pro Max and 12 Pro sitting on my desk side by side and its clear that the 12 Pro is absolutely more yellow. With True Tone off its not bad but with it on its a massive difference. When my daughter gets here with her 11 Pro Max I'll compare to hers and get a pic. Trying to get my sim transferred also so may take a few.

Set up my 12 Pro and it's identical to my 11 Pro Max, no yellow tint or overtly warm hue. Some typical blue shift at an angle. Glad to be one and done this year.

Giving me hope for when I get mine later today!

Gonna run errands real quick, and will try to take some accurate photos when I get back

the ones I took with screen protector on and using my SE2 to capture aren't quite depicting it accurately

the tl;dr though is its beautiful, bright, crisp whites, and great off axis

GOT MYSELF A WINNER GUYS ! Phew!!! its party time this weekend

12 pro

Good luck. This is the first year I think since the iPhone 8 that I've gotten a winner on the first try. Also viewed dark gray and black screens in a dark room, there's no green glow or other un-evenness that plagued an 11 Pro Max I returned last year.

I don’t see any issues with mine. When TT is on, the screen gets warmer. When off my screen is more blue. Compared to my XR with the same settings, my XR screen is more warm than my 12 Pro in both settings.

Cool congrats on a good phone.

And the original instructions clearly stated TT should be off for this. This is not a TT thing, we took that out of the equation.

I have never had the warm screen issue on previous phones, so this was my year, I guess. TrueTone off. Not only is it grossly warm, it is incredibly dull and dark. At 100% brightness compared to my iPhone 11, it's about half as bright. I'm super disappointed.

Wow. That looks truly horrible, assuming TT is really off. Return the POS immediately and demand better.

Need to wait until you're done with the transfer. You can't make any changes to the brightness during the setup process. NS looks to be on as well as the brightness isn't up fully.

I agree this looks bad, but you cant really compare until you can turn True Tone off. That only happens after these initial screens.

Once setup is done, turn TT off then compare again.

Edit: just saw you claim TT is off...did you initiate this after being able to access the home screen on the new phone? Otherwise, TT is enabled by default.

What the hell? Looks terrible. Is that the pro or standard 12?

Yes, I know. I waited until after the transfer to post this. I verified that True Tone was off by default and tested multiple brightness levels.

I'd say thats closer to within normal tolerance vs the issue we are describing here. Im sure she will say it more accurate or some BS. But thats not what we are talking about here. We are talking about a defective level of yellow that does not match the display phones.

Also, I bet she could get one closer to her old phone if she played the swap game.

I’ve got a yellow tint one. Side to side with my iPhone X it’s clearly more yellow.
And I’m missing 3D Touch already.
Tomorrow I’m going to call Apple and see if I get more lucky in the next one. If not, I will wait until January (like I did with my iPhone X with a perfect screen) or maybe until next iPhone.

Mine looked very similair to that during setup, but once settings get restored it went away. Looking at my IP11P and IP12P side by side they look very close, but I did notice I need to crank up brightness at least 10% on the IP12P to get the same look as the IP11P. So at first glance this display seems to be a bit dimmer at the very least. Kinda sucks. Do we know who made these? Last I knew IP12 was LG and IP12P was Samsung. Been in the smartphone game for a long time and had lots of phones, I smell something and I think it might be LG's dirty grundies!!!!

Beat them at their own game! Love it!

Lower brightness shouldn't happen either, so if it bothers you swap it out
