Hello guys - I recently got a new 2016 rMB and I noticed comparing to my 2014 MBP 15", the rMB screen seems to have a yellow tint to it, where as the color on the 15" MBP is super bright and clear.

Is this a known issue? should I return this and get a new one? (still in return period for a few more days)

Thanks!

Did you end up keeping your MacBook or replacing it ? I immediately noticed the yellow tint on my MacBook as well ..

You didn't respond to my suggestion about Nightshift settings in the other thread about this. Did you check?

This is not a widespread problem, so if Nightshift is not the cause you two may have faulty units.

I use my 2016 rMB alongside my 2013 15" rMBP all the time and there is no noticeable difference.

Sorry, nightshift is turned off on my macbook. I also played with expert calibration in settings and still can't get rid of the yellow tint .

The tint on these retina screens does seem to be wide spread and if it's not a tint it is awful uniformity. Yes they are easier on the eye and you can't see pixels (so what) but if you have a screen on a laptop that you paid huge $$$ for that looks like crap then there is something radically wrong. I have seen better screens on cheap televisions. And another couple of things... despite all the problems people post about their screens on forums I have only ever seen glowing reviews on the internet by laptop reviewers. This either tells me that they are getting some kind of incentive from Apple or they are being given laptops with handpicked screens that are in good shape. Also, On these forums you get the odd person saying "take it back and get it swapped, I have a perfect one" or words to that effect, but they never post a pic to back up their words. My 2014 screen was the worst I have ever seen on any laptop. I had it replaced 3 times...all the same. This 2017 one I am typing on is warm with a pink hue on the left hand side and cool and darker on the right.
