@wicknix Shot in the dark, but would it be possible to relink DiscordPPC to Leopard WebKit in some fashion? Perhaps the newer certificates / graphics libraries would lend a hand here?

Discords login page also shows blank white with LWK unfortunately. Oddly it will load with TFF/IWPPC, but it's so slow in those that it's unusable. Like winxp via virtualpc on a single cpu G4 slow. I tried different useragents, nothing. I then thought it was ssl/tls related, and fired up squid. Still blank white page with anything webkit based, so that wasn't it either. I'm stumped.

Well that sucks ...

Works great on AquaWeb micro, though. :D

Thanks. Yeah i've been trying (for a while now) to get LWK to build for snow leopard. No luck so far. However to fix 10.6's SSL issues you can install @Wowfunhappy 's Squid proxy package. I've been using it on SL since he released it, and it works wonders.

Cheers

So I just installed it and I cannot find the proxy option in InterWeb. MR doesn't load and other sites have an unknown issuer error.

I deleted my FB account almost a year ago, but i still randomly check out the low end mac group. In doing so i stumbled across this. Another discord app is in the works. Looks pretty nice.

Cheers

I am deadass hyped up for this. Another reason to go Tiger rather than leopard.

Wow, I just stumbled across this thread. I had no idea there was someone else working on such a thing. My approach is definitely quite a bit more complicated (and VERY time-consuming), as I'm writing the entire application from scratch using native Cocoa/Objective-C. As such, though, it runs VERY well, even on the anemic 1.33 GHz 12" PowerBook G4 I'm using for testing, with 768MB of RAM. I'm at the point now where about 70% of the functionality is there. I was able to get around all the SSL issues using some (very bad practice) hackery (which you'll see in the GitHub repo when I make it), but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do, right? Anyways, with that said, if any of you all want to test what I have done now, just let me know, and I can send you a copy. Just be aware it is not fully implemented yet. I do plan on this being an almost fully-featured client once I'm done (including voice and even video if I can squeeze that out of it). If you want to try it, your account must not have 2-factor authentication enabled, nor have a captcha requirement (as those features have not been implemented yet). Lastly, I didn't design this application exclusively for old systems. I designed it to work on all Macs, modern and old, as I despise the bloated Electron-based garbage that is the official Discord client. As such, I was able to compile this as a "tri-FAT" binary, with native support for PPC, 32-bit Intel, and 64-bit Intel. I do plan to make it a "quad-FAT" binary later, and add native ARM/M1 support (if I can manage to pull that off).

Code:
/Users/collinmistr/Desktop/Discord Lite.app/Contents/MacOS/Discord Lite: Mach-O universal binary with 3 architectures
/Users/collinmistr/Desktop/Discord Lite.app/Contents/MacOS/Discord Lite (for architecture ppc): Mach-O executable ppc
/Users/collinmistr/Desktop/Discord Lite.app/Contents/MacOS/Discord Lite (for architecture i386): Mach-O executable i386
/Users/collinmistr/Desktop/Discord Lite.app/Contents/MacOS/Discord Lite (for architecture x86_64): Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64

If anybody is interested in testing, I have just released the initial alpha version of my custom Discord client, compatible with PowerPC Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, all the way to the most recent version of Mac OS. It is compiled for PowerPC, 32-bit Intel, and 64-bit Intel. Please be aware that not all features have been implemented at this time, so some items you may expect may not exist or don't work properly. It currently supports basic interaction and file sharing.

In order to utilize this client in its current state, your Discord account must meet the following conditions:
- Does not have two-factor authentication enabled
- Does not have a captcha requirement for login
(These features will be implemented later, but are currently not supported by this early version.)

A compiled release as well as source code can be found here: https://github.com/dosdude1/discord-lite

If you do give it a try, I appreciate any feedback you may have!

Wow - amazing effort - there can't be many actually still coding for PowerPC! Alas, I have no use for Discord but congratulations on achieving this and I hope you don't stop there!

Since discordppc decided to not want to display user avatars or server icons any more i whipped up another client quick. Still requires a fast G4 or G5, but it works much the same as discordppc. Download it from the discordppc page on the garden. It's called PowerCord.

I still can't get your discord installed on my Titanium 1ghz.. am I missing something?

This app is garbage - tried to create an account, asks me to choose stupid pictures and a captcha.. then it accepts my responses and goes back into an endless loop.. never going anywhere.

I guess I can try to use my "intel mac" to create it. Sad, that I can't just use PPC mac for everyday stuff - the youtube which I wouldn't bother on any PPC mac, well using Tenfivetube of course :)
