Ok, I am on a roll here. Finally sitting down and trying to fix those problems or learn some new tricks (too many of those to pick up right now!)

And another little question on uninstall etc.
Over the last 6 months, I have installed and uninstalled lots of little apps as well as more than one game and I was wondering about defragmenting.

As far as I see all I do is drag and drop the icons and folders to the trash can to uninstall programs. Given that I had to defrag my HDD in windows after too much as things slowed down...

a. Do I need to do this for the mac?

b. Is there a tool to do this?

c. If I dont need to do this, why is this? (just curious)

Thanks,

Nicholas

You don't have to defrag if you don't work excessively with files over 20MB as OS X defrags files under 20MB automatically on the fly.

As for other questions check the Mac Beginner's Guide in my sig. It also includes a section on uninstalling apps. :)

Many thanks, I will take more care on the naming front in the future. I have repaired permissions, discovered a ton all messed up.
