Given price is not a consideration (there is only a measly $40 difference between the two computers) which would you get if you were me. I do graphic design but I have no desire (nor will I ever have a desire) to game. Doing 3D work is not something I currently do, but I can't predict whether or not I will want to dabble with it down the road.

Here are the two options (both refurbs):

Late 2013 base 15" Haswell 2ghz with Iris Pro Graphics
$1,699

OR

Early 2013 base 15" Ivy Bridge 2.4ghz with Nvidia 650M
$1,659 (when it's there)

Thanks in advance!

These two models are well known -- they are the base models for the current and past generations. Both have 8GB RAM and 256GB Storage.

Thanks -- that's what I'm leaning towards. Faster storage, faster I/O, faster WiFi. Not having a discrete graphics card kinda rubs me the wrong way, however.

I have the early 2103 model, should of got the 16gb/512gb. I would get it if buying again. Then you would have it all.

Iris Pro is just about as fast as the 650m.

Well that model is out of my price range (as if the base model I am considering is not)

The Iris Pro graphics is great. I run on that all the time and I have no issues with pro apps.

I would get the newer one.
