Has anyone with the public beta of Yosemite tried running iWork '09 applications?

I'm probably being paranoid, but I'm concerned about Apple trying to force the new (crappy) versions of iWork upon upgrading.

Did you install it ? And your verdict is ?

Nope. Thanks to the feedback of others here, it does look like it would probably be ok. But, I use Keynote and Pages all day long, and I can't risk it until at least the end of the school semester.

Yeah I was really worried too, this thread comes up as top hit in google search so just wanted to add that, as others said, all seems to be functional for me. (Simply installed Yosemite over Mavericks). The only very minor changes are the appearance of the drop down menus, etc., no functionality changes.

I'm seeing mixed results. I have three Macs that I just upgraded to Yosemite (an Air 11" and a Mini, and also the Mini at my work) -- and on two of the machines iWork 09 apps seem to be running fine, and on one of them none will launch.

Anecdotally, that suggests to me there's some variable on the third machine (my own Mini) that is keeping iWork from launching. No idea what it is but I'd love to know.

You should check the Console.app for any error messages after attempting to launch the programs.

Were you running the latest version of iWork '09 (i.e. Pages 4.3) before you updated?

I believe so. I have one old iWork installer I've been hoarding and using for some time now, so it should have been the same on all three machines.

Good call. I'll try that. I also haven't yet tried launching iWork in a new user account to see if it's something in my own account.
