    Hi Guys

We need to start testing Yosemite but don't have what I'd call an extra machine, but we do have a portable that, while used in the field, can become something less than a production machine (though it will have to run networked iTunes media on site and particularly in client sites).

Is Yosemite 3 pretty reliable/stable and able to run most software?

We'd be putting it on a 2012 MBP Retina if that's any help.

Also considering installing Yosemite Beta 3 on a mid 2010 Mac Mini Media Server. Yes? No?

In my experience..yes. I've been running PB 1 as my main OS (upgraded from Mavericks) with little to no probs...now on PB 3, good to go, not looking back.

I have not experienced any of the mail or other probs mentioned in other posts. The only issue I have is slow shutdown times, but not a deal breaker.

I just jumped aboard on PB3... Been using Mavericks before it.

Excluding the signature problem in Mail.app, everything else seems pretty stable and 100%

I am tempted to jump. I have been running DP10 on a second partition and thinking of putting PB3 on my primary mavericks, after making a CCC backup of course.

I've used it since PB1 in a secondary machine but it became the primary now:). PB1 had a lot of graphic bugs but any serious problem. Now the PB3 has all graphical bugs resolved and runs very good and fast now. I'm amazed of how well it runs on a 4 year old machine.

Safari still needs more performance improvements from my point of view.

That's how i feel about DP8. It's really, really nice. No more public wifi issues and they FINALLY enabled hardware acceleration in safari so it's insanely fast. Have noticed a battery dip because of it tho but it's still okay. Hope they optimize that in the next DP release but otherwise from what I can tell it's good to go. :)

The 5GHz band WiFi connection on rMBP is still unstable comparing to Mavericks'. Hope it will be resolved when it's released in Oct. Everything else is looking pretty good.

I use it on my work laptop but I've left my desktop on Mavericks as a "just in case". I haven't had any issues though. In fact, my work VPN connection is more stable.

I've been using it for two days and absolutely love it. I've only run into two bugs:

    1) My notes in the Note app are suddenly doubled.

    2) In one installation screen or something, the text was messed up and bunched at the bottom. I don't think I could reproduce this one if I tried!

Both of these are acceptable for all the kickass improvements, IMO.

It's unstable on my iMac too. It stays connected but the connection speed varies wildly from 280mps to 1170 mbps every few seconds. Mavericks never dropped below 870mpbs.

Other than that, there's no real issues I've found. Seems stable enough to release as is.

Strange, my PB 3 biuld # ends in P....and it is good to go for prime time baby!!!

    ----------

Doesn't work on my 2011 MBA...my understanding is that it only works for the DP's....those of us on PB's have to wait for the official release...again, to my understanding and from what I've heard...

Thats because you're using the public beta. I'm using the developer preview.
