Yosemite DP4, public beta, Final

I'm pretty comfortable with iOS but still kinda noobish with Mac OS.

I have DP4 installed on my MBP. Will I just be riding updates from the Mac Appstore until final version of Yosemite or do I need to do something different?

How are you a developer if you are new to mac?
 
I never said I was a developer. I asked a simple question.

How are beta updates of Mac OS X handled? iOS is either OTA or you download the firmware and update it through iTunes.

Then you admit to piracy and downloading illegal copies of apple products.
 
Been meaning to ask this for a while and this thread just triggered my memory 😉.......been running DP1 - DP4 but also submitted request for public beta

Wonder if I can load the public beta over the DP version or if not necessary since features will be identical?

LOL.....thats the other interesting note, while I am a registered iOS developer, I went to register as well for OS X but the system gave me a redemption code for DP
Now when i go to "about this mac" it shows v10.10 of course but does not show me a build #
So I'm not 100% convinced I am running the same DP4 as others may be and also my initial question remains which is will the public betas be identical to DP versions?

Tap the word VERSION under OS X Yosemite. The Version will change from:

Version 10.10

to

Version 10.10 (build)

DP4 is build 14A298i

Regarding your second question, no one knows for sure, but I have no reason to believe that they would be different.

Stop trolling. Its very well known that tons of non-devs install these betas. I doubt your a dev. Most dev's i know don't have time to troll message boards.

What the hell? How is that trolling? You doubt I'm a dev? Hah I'm not trolling I'm helping people, Its summer ffs, what do i not have time with?

Duff-Man says...this stuff comes up with every developer preview it seems. In the Mavericks forum there is a sticky thread put there by the moderators regarding running software without a proper license - I'm guessing some have not seen it but I'd think it applies just as much to 10.10 and iOS8 as it did to 10.9 and iOS7.

Now, I don't think anyone really believes that the "pirating" of developer versions is going to stop and that those that did won't be posting around here, but perhaps just being aware of the forum rules about it may stop some of these nonsense comments....oh yeah!
