Yosemite files (missing) ??

    Hi all, his is prolly a doddle for anybody with more recent Mac OS X.

    I have acquired a 5,1 Mac Pro and need to troubleshoot the processor tray hardware.

    I have downloaded the diagnosic .dmg from here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7784509

    (MacPro5,1 Mac-F221BEC8)

    The problem is when unpacking it on my new Yosemite machine there appear to be no files in the package.

    I'm new to Yosemite, can someone kindly advise what I'm missing?

    Do we know for sure if it's actually empty or just hidden files? Try running ls -al in the directory

    OK, just downloaded it and did it for you. It's not empty. All that you need is there, inside a hidden .diagnostics folder. The .efi for booting is there and all is good, so just burn it and boot from it.
