    Hey MacRumors Forum,

Has anyone else had problems since upgrading to Yosemite that they see thin vertical lines across the display (screen shot attached)?

My iMac has the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512 MB

Is there a way to fix this?

    Best,
    Leon

Your screen shot has no visible lines, either horizontal or vertical.

If vertical lines are visible on the screen, but not visible on a screen shot, then you have a hardware problem with the screen. You can try reseating the cable that connects the logic board to the screen. If that doesn't help, then likely the LCD panel would need to be replaced to fix that issue.

I don't see any lines. It could be your screen.

As others have mentioned, it's a panel column driver issue...probably the tab connector. Contact Apple.

It never occurred to me that screenshot would not have shown a hardware problem!!

But I am not clear, is this a driver issue or a physical issue?

Is it a driver issue that is part of Yosemite, because i never had this with Mavericks.

Or will I need to reseat a cable inside my iMac. That could be BAD news since my iMac is out of its first year warranty.

Is that your question - about background objects showing through?

That's one of the major changes between Mavericks and Yosemite, which added a lot of transparency effects, and other screen changes.
You can go to System Preferences/Accesibility/Display, and check Reduce Transparency. That may be all you need to make your screens/windows appear more to your liking.
