Curious, to any beta tester out there with the 'old' imovie (imovie 9). Is it working and functioning properly? I know Yosemite is still in beta, but was wondering if people are so far having success. It is running perfectly for me on Mavericks.
That is a very important app for me and I need it because iMovie 10 is a disaster.

What features did they remove in the latest version of iMovie? Or has the UI changed in ways you can't adapt?

    Is it compatible with Yosemite?

I don't want this to go off topic. Bottom line, my editing tasks have become a lot more frustrating with the new iMovie.

iMovie 9 is considerably better than iMovie 10. iMovie 10 is definitely too dumbed-down. iMovie 10 drops:
    1. Individual project files
    2. The option to have the viewer on the other monitor

I'm going back to iMovie 9.0.9 and recreating my last two projects. It's more work to do that, but it'll be worth it to be able to have individual project files and the dual-monitor option.

    1. Individual project files
    2. The option to have the viewer on the other monitor, which is called "Viewer on other display". It's under the Window section of the menubar.

The ability to have individual project files is certainly the more important of the two, but the dual-monitor option is also nice.
