I upgraded my 2010 MBP to Yosemite and when i try to launch iPhoto it gives me this "The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac is not compatible with OS*X*Yosemite. Download the latest version for free from the Mac App Store"

I click on the link in the message and go to iPhoto in the app store and the install button is not clickable. Under purchases it shows iPhoto there as "waiting" but it has been that way for hours. I've updated other apps from the app store just fine after yosemite. Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

There's one thing I don't really understand, why have they kept iPhoto? Weren't they supposed to launch a new "photos" app? What happened to it?

There's this whole mess of "Photos", iPhoto, "iCloud Photo Library" etc. Could someone please clear this up and explain what is going on?

The Photos App is only due "Early 2015" until then you should be OK using iPhoto and Aperture which should I think be supported throughout the life of Yosemite. Doubt that means any more updates after the recent ones but they should still work.

Now, whether they'll work with iCloud Photo Library as opposed to Photostream.......
