I just received my new 11 inch MBA today, and thinking about updating to Yosemite right away. How has it been for you so far? Is it worth it or should I stay at 10.9.5 for now?

I have a Mid 2011 MacBook Air and the only feature I do not get with Yosemite is the Hand off feature, because if you do not see allow hand-off in the settings, General should be under recent Allow Hand Off, if you do not see that then it will not work on your Macbook Air

Mine is screwed up. It takes 2 full minutes to shutdown, I get this spinning wheel seems like it's trying to close something then gives up and shutdown. Not sure what's wrong with it, I may have to roll back to Maverick.

Mine works fine but a lot of text is hard to read. Especially the number in app badges in the dock. See attached.

Questions regarding battery life ... give it time. People have only just installed the new O/S; it takes a while to get a feel for battery life as most people get excited and hammer the system (not to mention installing all the other app updates) which has an impact.

Also, the slow shutdown ... maybe see if it's still like that after a day or so; could be that the system is busy indexing something at the moment, after the new install.

This is getting like the iOS forums. People install the latest iOS version, and half an hour later, having updated 30 apps, complain that the battery seems to have dropped to 95% quicker than it did on the previous release etc.

Just relax and post a complaint thread next week if you're still having issues :)

How's battery? Mine seems less

I'm not sure. Before I upgraded, my battery needed replacing and ran for < 90 minutes. However, it no longer says it needs servicing and is reading 91% with 3:19 remaining. I doubt it will last that long. I can't believe Yosemite uses that must less power.
