    Hello All,

I am on a limited internet connection at home, and do not have a portable Mac with which I could download the Yosemite Public Beta. I have an iPhone and iPad which I could use, but I don't have a direct download link to Yosemite.

Is there any way I can get the link from the file that's already started downloading on my Mac? (I paused it in Launchpad)

    Thanks in advance,

PS. I was kinda disappointed Apple didn't email me with a code like they said they would, instead I found out from reading my MacRumors RSS feed :/

Even if you somehow found out what file the App Store was pulling from Apple's servers, it'd probably be session-specific so you can't just randomly start the download on a different Mac. That, plus it's probably encrypted.

How exactly would you manage to download the Yosemite app to your iPhone or iPad? That seems like an interesting approach… why don't you just tether your computer to either if your home internet sucks?

I would download the file using one of the many downloader apps on the app store.
What do you mean tether it?
No way I'm using 3G to download.

That's why I'm saying if I can download it using my work wifi, then it would be better than destroying my limited home internet plan.

The file on Apple's servers is probably secured as Takuro said on a session-by-session basis. Even if you could somehow do it, there is no link to Yosemite. The download is managed by the App Store itself.

Also the downloads are authenticated by the code that Apple provided each tester with (probably) so there may not be a way to get the code to work with a 3rd party app.

Sounds like your own personal problem if you don't want to pay for a decent home connection. Sorry.

Maybe you can pack your computer in your car and take it to work. I think that's literally all you can do. Not joking. See what your boss thinks. :p

Don't be a jerk... you don't know what his circumstances are. There are many people that live in places where crappy internet service is their only option. I know a guy who lives in the middle of the Los Angeles metro area that cant get cable internet in his building and lives too far away from the telephone company to get DSL any faster than 768k down.

Nope just google "Yosemite download link". You'll find what you need.

    Thanks for the responses.
I can't find anywhere else to download it (at least somewhat legitimately), which is why I came here.
Oh well I guess I'll just have to get a friend to download it for me.

    Thanks again!

    Hey Harry,

There are only Windows boxes at work unfortunately :/
Otherwise I would have done that and just copied the .app file to a thumb drive.

    Thanks anyway.
