Yosemite Slow Bootup

    specs of my MBP below.. only a year old. no reason this machine shouldn't be flying. compared to previous OSX versions, the bootup is slower. sometimes i'm looking at the loading screen for 30 secs, when it was about 11 secs max with the last two versions. any others experiencing this?

    Not slow for me mac mini 2011 8gb ram. Mavericks was 59 seconds and Yosemite is 43 seconds now. Much faster.

    Maybe try a clean install.

    If FileVault is on (default on Yosemite) it will be slower...

    That isn't necessarily true. While not scientific, I, along with many here, have Filevault enabled and have not experienced longer boot times using stock hardware.
