Why would you reconsider? One trojan for the Mac shows up vs 100's for Windows?

I've had my Windows computer for over a year and I've yet to get any sort of virus or spyware.

Because you're scared that you'd be stupid enough to install software like that yourself? Trojans have to be installed by the end user, they don't spread on their own like a virus.

Can't even be installed unless you were stupid enough to give permission.

I will never reconsider. Besides, if I wanted to move back to Windows machines, I would have to buy new ones. I smashed them when I bought my iMac last month. Mac for life.

Trojans are nothing new to Mac. There are several...Termite, HellRaiser, WinJack1.1, Sub7ME, Xover...etc, etc. Now, compared to Windows, this is nothing. But as far as reconsidering about buying a Mac....come on. What about other operating systems? Linux? BSD?

Wow one new Trojan shows up that any reasonable person should understand not to click, and people think Windows is safer than Mac.

Famous last words. You are making a mistake based on your understanding of viruses and their purposes. Some viruses and other malware may interfere with your computers normal operation, but most of the well-written ones do not. Their purpose is to make money for their authors. They won't be particularly effective if they reveal themselves. Download McAfee and run a scan. You will be surprised.
