    Just follow these steps:
    1) Insert iPhone SIM into iPad. DON'T INSERT IPAD SIM INTO IPHONE!!!!
    2) Go to Settings>Cellular Data>APN Settings and change these settings:
    APN: wap.cingular
    Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
    Password: CINGULAR1
    3) Do a hard reboot of the iPad.
    4) Enjoy!

Has anyone been able to verifiy that this actually works??? I do have an iPad but not a iPhone 4. And does this use your existing iPhone data plan instead of having to use a seperate iPad data plan.

You can type "phone" instead of "broadband" in the APN section.
No requires ID and Password for this.

Once you pull out the SIM, the APN will be back to "broadband".

Since my unlimited data plan is grandfathered into my iPhone 4's plan, when I put its SIM inside the iPad would it change it back to 2GB cap? Anyone that can confirm this?

Technically no....but you always run the risk of AT&T catching on that you're occassionally using data on a different device via IMEI. If this occurs then AT&T could charge you for the data or force you to switch to one of the new iPhone data plans.

This is true. Plus popping the sims out would really be a pain everytime I want to use it.

LOL :) The hassle of popping out a few SIM trays should be the least of your worries.... Receiving an AT&T bill for several thousand $$$ would be more of a concern for me at least.

No kidding man. I RARELY would use the 3G on the iPad but I'd rather pay the 15 or 25 "just incase."
