You cannot check in stock availability of X at apple.com for stores?

I'm checking apple.com, and I cannot see where I can see what stores have it available. If I try to buy 1 it automatically wants to deliver it. I used to be able to check stock at my local stores to see what is available.

It will be turned on eventually, it is not available on launch weekend.

They did the same thing with the iphone 8's at launch. You could check stock at the store days later I think but not that launch weekend.
