Could be because it's easier for Apple set packages versus having options, which ultimately causes more in terms of ease and perhaps it's a quicker process to ship/manufacture.
In other words "let's stop working for the customer and instead just think of ourselves"!

I don't buy into it being quicker, as wait times are longer than I had for my series 0 purchased a couple of months after first released.
I can though see where you are coming from with the business point; it makes sense, at the expense of the customer.......again.

And I was guessing at best strictly from a business stand point. But I can understand your frustration from a consumer standpoint with long delays.

It has frustrated me. I have a SS42 S0 Milanese and am upgrading to a S2 SS42. I have loads of bands (virtually every colour sport, milanese black and silver, two leather etc), but not some sports bands. I will now have 2 white sport bands. I suppose though if I sell the S0, I can sell it with the white, but I would have preferred to be able to choose a colour I didn't have.

The only market for reselling bands is eBay. But it's a tough market with third party bands offersing similar standards. But not nearly the quality as Apple has.

Off topic. I've tried on the Nylon Band it wasn't bad. May eventually pick one up. Grabbed a rep band though. May pick up a bright white or green.
Yellow? Lol
