Yeah I see what your saying. It does stretch or skew the image. It will zoom in and out.

I wish you could specify a different way of cropping for the landscape and portrait modes.

I'm not 100% sure I know what you're talking about, but if I understand you guys correctly, I think your problem might be because your picture is 1024x768 instead of 1024x1024.

Thanks. It's a section of the Orion Nebula. The colors of the gasses are spectacular. It's hard to believe that this section alone spans trillions of miles.

I'm not 100% sure I know what you're talking about, but if I understand you guys correctly, I think your problem might be because your picture is 1024x768 instead of 1024x1024.

This is basically what the thread covers - wallpapers should be a 1024*1024 square, which allows the image to be displayed in 768*1024 (portrait) or 1024*768 (landscape). This graphic explains it:
