I make way, way less mistakes typing texts on the on screen keyboard.
You would think a smaller keyboard would mean smaller keys and thus more mistakes, but on my previous iPhone X, I had to make corrections every other word, while I can type multiple sentences in a row on my iPhone mini without any mistakes.
Has someone else experienced such oddity? ?

Smaller keys but also spaced closer together, which could make a difference with thumb typing. I typed way more comfortably and accurately on my 4 than on my 6S, although I have adjusted to the 6S over time

I had the reverse experience recently working with a first gen SE and found I made more mistakes.

The fastest most accurate typing I’ve ever done was on an iPhone 4S. I could haul ass on that phone. The bigger the screen, the bigger the keyboard which means each letter (key) is farther apart. Greater distance between keys means finger has to travel farther = slower and more likely to miss the key when going fast.

On a similar note: I can type WAY more accurately on my iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 9 than I can on my 8 Plus running iOS 14. It’s the exact same size keyboard on both phones and the iPhone 8 is much much faster, but the predictive text and auto-correct is much worse on iOS 14 than ios 9. I make sooo many more errors typing on iOS 14. So much for progress

If you’re not using swipe/flow on a mini you’re missing a beat… it’s perfect for one handed swipe use.
