can't be worse than blood sausage.

i like chicken nuggets but compared to a fresh cooked blood sausage served alongside sauerkraut & potatoes, combined with it's brother the fresh cooked liver sausage ?

absolutley no contest there

but blood sausages are hardly the only food having image problems:
horse meat ? delicious, yet some people who have no problem eating rubbish like shrimps wouldn't touch it
the best tasting & leanest bacon i ever tasted ? made from pork tongue

Perhaps you haven't seen the video. Butchers are repurposing bacteria-laden meat scraps, fooling the public into purchasing what they think are better cuts and exposing those that consume (med) rare meat to increased health risks.

Perhaps you did not notice that it is easy to spot the glued meat in the video when it is raw, which was even stated in the video. It just becomes difficult to tell when it is cooked. I also do not buy that vacuum packed meat. Rather the meat in the saran wrapped Styrofoam packages or from the butcher counter, so I can get a good look at the marbling and feel if the texture of the meat is right. You can also watch the butchers cutting and packaging the meat at the markets I go to.

The day perfectly healthy and non nasty stuff tastes as good as burgers and chicken nuggets, I'll pay attention to this kind of thing

Another thing where the media and morons have blown something so small out of proportion... Just like the PSN shut down, media has taken that way farther then it should have gone.

In my area, cheap sausages contain around 38% actual meat and couldn't believe what they actually put inside them! From pork ears, noses even to it's tails! I was shocked, now I go with higher quality meat which contains around 80% of meat, not left overs or stuffings like that.

Some so-called primitive societies are lauded for using 100% of the animal, honoring it by not throwing parts of it away. I'm happy it is all used in a delicious way in our society. It is actually a good thing, but entertaining to make fun of.

The real question is how it is prepared and sold. Take Taco Bell for example...I knew all along that they were messing with the meat cuz it was disgusting. If it actually tasted good I would have no problem with it.

I'm not trying to be funny, but I've been told that cow tongue is good too. I guess some deli in New York City sells cow tongue.

Cow tongue is interesting, both on a taste level and a texture one.

It's been quite a while, but I seem to recall a pleasant experience.

Next time you go to a legit taco place order lengua. That is beef tongue and it is delicious.

We were just talking about this; you just don't see tongue and organ meats for sale in mainstream stores any more. Not even tripe. I see it in Mexican markets, so I guess it all goes there or into sausage now.

My mother actually cooked brains a few times. I used to see them in containers years ago, but no more.

Meat glue?

Yuck, the reason I stay away from sausage and hot dogs, made from nasty leftover meat products/parts!

Oh well, everything you eat nowadays seems to be gross or dangerous in some way or another, I stopped caring about that years ago :p
