I just need one big screen to allow me to max out the Garageband and Logic timeline. I use expose/spaces for everything else which will never substitute for real for dual monitors but helps. Any facebook or twitter type ****** goes on my T100 tablet and I check when needed.

My studio monitors take up too much space on my desk for a real second monitor. I just can't wait to get my new monitor stands the old ones were pretty bleh and broke on me so I have the speakers on my desk which sucks.

My old set up I had less space, so I used 2 Apple Studio displays (the square ones.) And I prefer having one large screen with lots of space.

My work G5 currently has a pair of mismatched pair of 23" 1680x1050 displays. I think they actually have the same panels, but have two different brandings on them(one is Gateway and the other Dell) as well as obvious different amounts of downtime(this affects the color temperature of the fluorescent backlights). I have enough of a background in photography that off-color and especially mismatched displays really bug me. I'm actually bidding on a Colorpro Spyder 2 at the moment that I hope will take care of that. At some point soon(hopefully this summer), I'm probably going to buy a matched pair of 1920x1080 LED displays for my work computer. Those are getting cheap enough that I think I can get a decent pair of displays for about $300 total.

Spyder2 is unfortunately not able to calibrate LED background displays and Wide Gamut displays.

Therefore you would need a new generation of calibrator. (Spyder5 has casually just been released :D)

Furthermore, you need to use 6 screens with the same background type, otherwhise it's impossible to match, as our eyes aren't able to match different light waves. See this video concerning the metamerism failure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5iAYzai3ZI
