Hey all,

so I decided not to get my iPhone 7 fixed my a local repair centre and would want to go for the Apple out of warranty replacement which is like £280.

I know the passcode on my iPhone. However I don’t remember what email I used for iCloud or the password for activation lock. I also can’t see anything on the phone due to screen not working and battery is swollen however iPhone only shows blue lines.

I do have the proof of purchase receipt from Apple that the phone is mines. Do you think Apple will be able to reset the iPhone in store. Because I don’t have a laptop only my iPhone as my main device.

thanks all

If you want you can login to your iCloud account on web and it will show all the devices associated with that account.

If you have multiple email addresses you can try forgot password on Apple ID website to reset the password of Apple ID.

trouble is that I set up a temporary email address on that iPhone and I can’t remember what the email was I set it up as and don’t remember what the Apple ID is because that was the email address I created a new Apple ID.

I guess the only option you have is to call Apple and ask them.

Same thoughts here. Why anyone would use a non permanent email address to set up an account they intend to use is beyond me though.

Best success OP!

If the OP is able to provide the original receipt to Apple showing proof of purchase, they should be able to unlock it.

I had a similar situation happen with my 6s when my iPhone was activation locked to an email address that didn't match mine. I called Apple and sent over a copy of the receipt via email and they were able to lift the iCloud activation lock on my device after a day or two.

They should be able to complete a reset, however, there is an ‘approval process’ that will entail a senior advisor or above. It may also take two business days.

U want to sink 280 in a iphone 7? Why not buy a new one for less? They start at about 250

Update. I decided to cancel my appointment with Apple. The way I see it. I may as well invest in a newer iPhone instead of paying for a refurbished replacement by handing my old one in. Thanks for everyone’s replies though.
