We haven't seen or heard from this guy for a while now since January. Has there been any word of him improving or if he has been out and about lately? I'm surprised that TMZ hasn't seen him either. According to his memo:

I have decided to take a medical leave of absence until the end of June.

So do you believe that he will be back in time if there is a new announcement at WWDC?

Well I hope that Steve gets better and will stay healthy enough to come deliver this Keynote.

It would be a boon to Apple's share price if a) a new iPhone comes out and b) Steve Jobs introduces it. Buy, buy, buy!

he wont be delivering anything....he's done

Got any facts to back that up? Didn't think so.

Until we hear otherwise from an ACTUAL source, steve is set to return at the end of June. This is based on evidence, not crap assumptions based on nothing and ill will.

As much as I'd love to see him there, I'm kind of doubting it.

Obviously I have no info but if he's on leave for 6+ months it's probably something more serious than we are led to believe.

There may not be a real new iPhone either. Maybe more capacity. I guess that can qualify as new. So both could be a no show.

What about the fact that we were told about those 6 months right when he took leave? So far everything seems on track with no evidence to support otherwise.

Yes.

He will either be there to say he's returning, or he will be there to say he's retiring for good, and this will be his last presentation.

I honestly have no idea which it will be, but either way I foresee him being there.

But when he eventually does leave it would be that much worse. As I said: everyone needs to be weened off Steve's tit.

Of course thats true, but you guys have to remember that as of now, Steve is still CEO of apple and controlling the reigns.

I would think an innovator like Steve would be upset if he had to continue to play the man behind the curtain. He wants to either be out there leading actively or handing of the reigns to someone he trusts to follow in his footsteps.

What i meant was yes, hes on leave, but as stated in his letter, he still weighs in on MAJOR apple decisions.

Just like all of their other events? The stock doesn't respond to product announcements; it responds to financial forecasts and profits. They're not so much interested in the shiny factor as they are in the money.

I wasnt even talking of products, its sad to see apples stock take a hit after EVERY event because the rumors far exceed the real products.

I was talking solely of steve, mere RUMORS of him ill make the stock tank to the point where investigations are made (which btw did anyone see Jim Cramer on the daily show clips showing how easy it is to manipulate apples stock, makes me wonder who exactly makes these rumors). I'd imagine news of his return would deffinatly have a good impact on the stock.

Really tho, i just want to see him present, the man just has a gift for making people swoon over the products. I watch each keynote as entertained as if i were at a movie.

I also think he'll be more low key. It's better for Apple's long term for him to ease out, and I think the 3.0 update is a great slight of hand opportunity. An event everyone loves and no need for him to be there.

I also hope he's doing well, whatever the circumstances.
