There will be no talk about the iPhone throughout the keynot...

Then you hear someone who sounds a lot like Steve say One last thing... as he comes walking on stage with the new iPhone. Steve will then talk about the new version.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 3G (white): Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

I also think he'll be more low key. It's better for Apple's long term for him to ease out, and I think the 3.0 update is a great slight of hand opportunity. An event everyone loves and no need for him to be there.

I also hope he's doing well, whatever the circumstances.

As much as I hope you're wrong, this makes a lot of sense. :(

I personally hope Steve Jobs is doing better. Would I like to see him back? Yes, because he is a great speaker and just truly... amazing at that. His words, his delivery, just everything he does when doing presentations for Apple or the one he talks to a graduating class of a college, I think UCLA? He truly has a gift in delivering products and speeches that I don't really see in other people.

Though, as sad as this is for me to say... he won't be there. I just have that feeling, not because of more health issues but because they all realize at Apple that Steve can't keep doing this forever. And I don't think the last presentation of iPhone OS 3.0 was too bad.

All I have to say is, I'd do a better job. :/

Got any facts to back that up? Didn't think so.

Until we hear otherwise from an ACTUAL source, steve is set to return at the end of June. This is based on evidence, not crap assumptions based on nothing and ill will.

Strictly speaking, that's not based on "evidence", but on a press release. And as far as press releases are considered "evidence" of anything, well, I'll leave that up to you ;)

Anyway, you're right. So far it looks like he will be back. And until we hear anything else, that is the assumption we will have to make.

Well... in my opinion... YES, he is gonna be there!
why? you ask me?

let's put it this way...

1. there's a 99% possibility that the new iPhone will be announced that day. (to start shipping mid-july)

2. there's a 90% possibility that the iPhone OS 3.0 will be fully released that day too!

3. there's a 80% possibility that Mac OS X 10.7 "Snow Leopard" will also be announced that day. (and start shipping either the same day or a bit later on in the summer)

4. there's a 70% possibility that the much-talked-about touch screen "Netbook" will also be announced that very same day...

AND he said he'll be off duty until the "end" of june and WWDC is either Mid-June or early June... so a week or two ahead of his planned return won't hurt him...

IF Steve returns that day with a "1, 2, 3, 4" presentation for the iPhone, iPhone OS 3.0, Snow Leopard, and NetBook... shares will soar upwards! Media will go crazy! and us? even Crazier! :D

Let's just hope he will get better! We miss his keynotes!

Where are these percentages coming from?? Just curious.

Personally, I believe he'll show up for the introduction of the new iPhone.

More than 88 percent of all statistics and percentges are invented on the spot. :D

I would think an innovator like Steve would be upset if he had to continue to play the man behind the curtain.

Jobs is not an innovator himself.

He's just very good at recognizing innovation when he sees it, and then mass marketing it.

But will he come back? As someone who's surviving a similar cancer, I unfortunately think the signs are not good. But I wish him the best of luck.

I hope we'll see Steve announce the next iPhone, but I'll be perfectly happy if Joz and Forstall do it. Anyone but Schiller, lmao.

I really hope that steve does the presentation for the new iPhone, but somehow I'm doubting he will. I hope we haven't seen the last of Steve's presentations. It feels like the announcement will come at WWDC, which is usually late may early june, so Steve might not even be back by then.

I think he will do it if he's healthy enough, obviously we dont know if he is but i hope and believe that he will be ready and bring us another classic at WWDC 09 :)

I've been saying this all along. It was said a couple months ago that Steve will be returning late June. Now, out of any other time to return, he happens to return right when we expect the new iPhone to be announced.

New iPhone + New software about to be debuted + One of the best CEO's returning to the job = Massive success for both media / sales.

I admit its not concrete, but it is the only official word we have, and unless something credible comes along, thats the only thing we can go off of and not be purely speculating.

See? we can play nice sometimes:p

Well... Since January, Steve did make an apperance... at Walt Disney.
It was something like 3 weeks ago, maybe one month.

He was there to be re-elect on the board.. and was re-elected with the rest of hte board.

This news had been reported by many website.

Search, you will find... but there is no pic however... so we don't know if he gains some weight or not.

No, he did not show up, that was sloppy journalism, but yes he was re-elected.
