Had my 13"MacBook Pro for 5 weeks now and absolutely no issues at all.

When a person has a bad experience with something they will usually tell at least 10 people, but when they have a good or exceptional experience they will only tell 1 or 2 people.

Too true! :(

Stock 2011 13 i5.

On a replacement already and now this one is playing up. I've had enough for now so getting a refund. The whole ordeal has been a major pain in the a$$. Can't say Apple haven't been trying to fix the problem though.

Will stick with my trusty old core 2 duo white Macbook for now until I can be bothered trying a new Mac again.

15" 2.2 GHz with SSD, 8 GB RAM and high-res anti-glare. Only had it for a week or so, but so far so good! I expected it to fly and it certainly does that.

The 2011 MBP changed my recording life. As of this gen, using a laptop for audio no longer means compromising power. I have everything I have wanted in a mobile solution, and I'm using the base 15".

These things are brilliant.

I have the base model 13", its quiet and stupid fast. This is my first mac ever, I will never buy a PC again.

I know I know... but trust me I was never an Apple fanboy:

This machine changed my perception of how portable IT machines can go. I have been a user of Windows ever since I'm born and I have used machines like Acer, IBM and Lenovo but they have all performed under-par in the long-term. Maybe it's due to my bad luck.

But bad luck was never a factor once I shifted to Mac, because this machine performs with such amazing efficiency and effectiveness. Even at a standard drive, it boots up in average 30-40% faster than my previous comp, seldoms have beachballs (or you would say lag/circles in Windows) when I'm doing CPU intensive tasks like video processing and even numbers crunching on Excel.

This machine is fab. I love it. :apple:

I only have a couple very minor complaints with my 2011 13" MBP.

1. Sometimes when waking up from sleep mode the mouse won't work for 15-20 seconds.

2. I don't really get the advertised 7 hours of battery. This is with Google Chrome and like 3 browser windows open and 4 ticks below full brightness. I'm usually only using 4% of my CPU.

i have a 13" i7 . 2011 - 8gb RAM

Main problems or issues for me are

- Loud CPU Fan
it can spin out of control when doing simple things like skype calls or youtube / hd videos -- pretty disappointing because i think its a design flaw and we have to live with it.

- WIFI issue / network issue + further issues on wake from sleep with the internet connection -- may be fixed in an update, osx lion or if I format.

I have been using macs for 4 years and this i will admit has been a little buggy for me, as i haven't had any problems in the past. I have also read that people have similar problems BUT maybe i have a lemon ????? can someone confirm ?

Well, I'd hardly call Skype a simple task. Skype is known to somehow tax the CPU and engage the fans, on a Mac anyway. Have you compared Skype performance with any other (than 2011) MBP model, I'm interested to know whether Skype may be having problems with the integrated graphics specifically.

switch to safari and you'll probably get quite a bit more battery life.

probably the brightness more than the browser.... i think most battery tests are at medium brightness... 3/4 ticks below max is pretty bright!

I'm totally happy with my 2010 15 inch MacBook Pro. I've experienced kernel panic issues but that wasn't the computers fault. Those issues have been completely fixed. My next Mac will probably be an iMac or Mac Pro, so I expect my MBP to last me for many years to come!

I guess but this hasn't happened to me on windows machines, it try bootcamp
