Hello

first post, I have done a search but can't see an answer.

Every time I switch my iMac on my iPhone gets a notification saying "Your Apple ID and Phone Number are now being used on Another Device", this is every time I switch the iMac on. in System preferences the iMac is there and on IOS the iMac is there and says it is trusted, I also have an MBP and that is fine and appears trusted same as the iMac.

iMac is a late 2013 27" running Catalina (bought as a warrantied refurb with clean OS install)

all my searches so far return no relevant results, just that this should happen first time on a new device, it's driving me round the bend now :-\

Suggest not turning it off, just let it sleep after a couple of minutes using Energy Saver which is found undser System Preferences, choosing 'Put hard drive to sleep whenever possibvle and a time frame'. Only time my various iMacs and Mac Pros ever got booted is following a software update.

Suggest you download Catalina, use DiskmakerX to make an +16GB thumb drive bootable and do an erase and install from that. The 128GB PCI-e blade will be large enough to hold Catalina. Always best to do your own fresh installs.
