Hey all!

I have a 2019 15” coming in the mail soon and wanted to check in with you guys about what you love using with yours.

One thing I’d love to hear about is a great MagSafe replacement type thing. There are so many. Some claim to be able to do 40gbit TB3 as well and for a 6 foot cable that seems impossible given the 3 foot spec. I’d settle for 10gbit honestly that’s about how fast an average SSD is these days anyways.

Ok what are your favorites?

Oh and a very low profile sleeve that would fit in a backpack slot and offer a bit more protection in the go.

I have the cal-digit ts 3 plus docking station when I'm at work - love the 1-cable-connects-all solution.
When I'm on the go, I always carry a Satechi TB3 dongle, just in case.

In terms of the MagSafe replacements - I've tried two, one from kickstarter (Vinpok), another one from belkin, they all suck. I'd suggest stay away from those and just try to be a bit careful with your charging cables.

I have the Samsung T3 SSD for my 13" and I love it. Then the pro dock from Satechi with all the. missing ports.

Those drives are great. I have a bunch. I prefer the G Drive though for more durable outsides.

Yeah re MagSafe replacements I’ve heard that. Gonna give this a go:

I still lament the loss of true Magsafe accessories on the MacBook Pro, but I've found something that generally works for me: At my desk, there's little chance the cord will get pulled, so I just use the standard charger setup that came with the laptop. But when traveling, I use one of these, with the "MagSafe" end plugged into the power brick, rather than the laptop itself (Plugging it into the brick not only avoids having to dedicate one of the precious USB-C port to charging only, but it makes it less likely that the weaker-than-Apple magnet will get jogged loose when moving the Mac around on a coffee-shop table).

Of course, if you travel often, it never hurts to have an extra power brick in your bag, too.
