Threaded can work in some forums, but the way most people are accustomed to posting on these forums, just the flat/linear style is easier to read.

Well, I just played around with the other display modes, and I must say that I prefer using the default one. So much easier for me to use.

Exactly, the other options did seem to require too much effort. They take some of the fun out of trying to read and respond to posts.

Linear - oldest first. It's the only way to go. My mind works best in linear mode...

Definitely linear - I tried the others when I first joined and got horribly confused. Oldest first seems to suit the way this site works and the way people here post.
