Gosh, I don't remember my tapes...I remember having the La Bamba soundtrack, but I'm sure there were older ones.

My first CD was REM's Out of Time...purchased one month before I owned a CD player. It sat proudly displayed on my bookshelf until I had saved up enough dough to get the stereo...

It's a bit banal but...

It's a bit banal but true....'Dark side of the moon' by Pink Floyd.

I had a quick look at my stack of 45s and my fears were confirmed. The first 45 I appear to have purchased was "Too Much Heaven" by the Bee Gees. Copyright 1978. The first album, you guessed it "Spirits Having Flown".

Hangs head in shame.

OK so I was 11 at the time. At least the next album I recall buying was a bit better "News of the World" by Queen.

Good thing my older brother had better taste.

First CD: Sleater-Kinney. Either Call the Doctor or Dig me Out

Started listening to classical/Beatles/early Rolling Stones etc. stuff that my dad had in cassette format. Later on both my dad and I started to listen to PNW alternative/independent music at the same time.
