Other Your iPhone Being Delivered by UPS? READ THIS

Just a heads up to anyone who is expecting a shiny new iPhone this Friday. If you want your phone Friday, be wary of changing your delivery to any sort of UPS store pickup. It's very possible if you make any changes to your delivery that your package won't be in your hands on release day. I just looked into changing my XR delivery to a UPS store pickup and it bumped the estimated delivery date back to Oct 29th.

This must be a recent change because I've been making delivery changes & picking up at the same UPS stores for years and my packages have always been ready the same day as originally scheduled. The last two packages however, have ended up being delayed by at least one day, if not more.

Actually this isn't something new. However, it's a hit or miss. Some have had lucks with changing it for the UPS Store pick up for the XS/XS Max and was still able to pick it up on the original delivery date promised. But it's just luck of the draw.'

For me, I'd rather have it hold for pick up at the UPS CC.

I think most UPS hold for pickup locations are UPS hubs. Few & likely not close. FDX offers pickup at nearby FDX Office locations. I haven’t seen option to direct UPS hold for pickup to UPS stores with any of my shipments yet.

That’s an improvement. I have never seen or been given that option. Always felt UPS should ‘match’ the FDX pickup at retail locations option.

I changed my XR delivery to hold at UPS CS Center (which is the HUB) and it didn't change my delivery date. It's just that once it gets on the truck to get to a store there could be a delay depending on how close to the HUB the store is. Also some had this happen with the XS and XS Max and after a couple days and the package started moving the date changed to release day.

You definitely can change the delivery status to be held at UPS Store as well. Not sure why you don't have that option while most do have that options available to them.

I’ve only seen or been offered the UPS Customer Counter, not UPS Stores.

Interesting. I don't pay anything to keep UPS MyChoice. Not sure why you would have to pay for that feature.
