That sounds like a mobo issue. Virtually all hackintoshes have to have their audio patched to work correctly with OS X. For my build, after the install I had to install NVidia drivers and run the Taruga audio patch. Haven't had any issues since.

I figured as well but that's the whole point of buying a mac.. it just works, lol.

haha no, i initially bought it for gaming as i have a mb and as we know they cant play anything

but i decided to throw osx on it and it has since become my primary computer

My macbook has no troubles with quake / warcraft games. Snes roms work good too :p.

Agreed. I grew up thinking proprietary is bad. But now I just love the crap out of it. Macs and Sun SPARCs just WORK, and I love that. I still have my PC rigs to tinker with and for gaming (I have quite the nice gaming rig) but nothing beats buying a new Mac, turning it on, and having it just work.

Lol, quake... u mean quake..part 1 and 2..??

Quake 1-3, and games based on the q3 engine like JK2 / JK3. You guys forget the minimum requirements for those games. Something like a Pentium 2 233 with a 4 meg video card comes to mind. :D

Also, we totally jacked this thread now. SORRY to the OP.

No problem... Back on track with the Geekbench marks. I just updated my geekbench to 2.1.2 and my new score is over 9800 :)

Now I'm peeing with the big dogs! :D

This is a lowly 2.66 octad from 2006. :) I don't really trust geekbench at all though. Scores are too wildly different from session to session and from machine to machine. But it's still fun to mess with. :)
