I am interested in gathering some thoughts and statistics on the different web browsers that people are using on their Macs these days. Post any thoughts, recommendations or comments on the different Mac browsers. You can also vote in the poll if you want.

Remember it's only the one you use regularly, not those you keep around "just in case"!

Safari, found no reason to switch to FireFox or Chrome. From experience, I've never found or ran into any problems with stock browsers to actually download a third party one. Heck, I've even used Internet Explorer (in Windows) and didn't mind it (except for the poor management of pop-up windows).

It was Firefox forever, but I've started having some lagging with it. I'm finding myself using Chrome more and more. It's well designed and extremely fast.

safari, have always used chrome on windows and linux but since switching to mac I haven't even installed it. Safari does everything I need and fits in better with os x than chrome (obviously)

Mostly Safari, except for accessing my Gmail accounts. I leave Chrome open fulltime just to do that, because I get Safari crashing in Gmail way too much.

I use Safari 99% of the time, and Firefox for a couple of forms that don't work properly in Safari.

I've been using Firefox since before I switched, so I use it on my Mac too. It's what I'm most comfortable with.

I've tried Chrome and several minor players but settled on Safari and Firefox on both my Macs and on PCs. Firefox on Linux as well. Nice to be able to move across platforms, although there are differences between Safari on a Mac and on a PC that I don't like.

Safari must be the least ergonomic browser out there. Firefox wins hands-on for its ease of use (at least, in my case) and customizability.

You used to be able to. It hasn't been available for several years now.

I still have it sitting on my oldest Mac Mini (G4) but never use it. There is an option to run IE on any Mac using crossover. It runs under "wine" which is an emulation mode that allows a few windows programs to run properly under OS X. Examples are Office 97, IE 6 (yeah, I know. who would wanna run that), and a handful of windows games. I prefer Crossover to Parallels or Bootcamp. I don't want to waste the disk space to have a full windows OS install on my Macbook which is down to less than 15 gig free. I'm gonna move my iTunes folder and iPhoto library off to a firewire drive so I can get about 80 gig free again. But even then I wouldn't want to bother with parallels, vmware or virtualbox unless I absolutely had to run something that wouldn't run under Crossover. Crossover isn't free but I use it and like it.

BTW I use Firefox exclusively on all my platforms. I use FF Sync to keep bookmarks in sync but not tabs. I use Firefox Home on my iPad and iPhone 4 to keep those in sync as well. I tried Chrome but lost interest. Yes it was fast but it wasn't that much faster.

I switch between using Safari and using Chrome. Currently using Safari about 70% of the time.
