YouTube 4K playback on an iPhone XS Max??

So I watch YouTube a LOT in my downtime- I never noticed.... my iPhone XS Max on iOS 14 got YouTube 4K support? I read it was in a beta but in never saw it myself until today. (I never ran the betas).

Also, I haven’t updated past iOS 14. Was this always here? I watch a lot of channels that almost exclusively produce in 4K and never saw this before (and I always check my quality - at home on wifi, 1080p, on the road 480/360 for obvious data savings reasons).

Yes, you can play videos in 4K. Youtube pushed it first after ios14, then shut it down, and now it is there all the time.

I noticed it late last week on my XI Pro Max. I was quite overjoyed.

Yeah, they finally allowed us to choose resolutions well beyond the one of the iPhone's screen.
