hi I've just reordered another iPhone as I'm not impressed with the s20 ultra

I've heard that finally you can play 4k videos from YouTube for those who are can you tell any difference and do we think this feature will stay when ios 14 is released

Thanks

Been playing videos at 2160p on the YouTube app on iOS 14, Honestly cant see a difference between 1080p and 2160p.

The feature is here to stay, It's also on iPadOS, Big sur and Apple TV YouTube app will be getting it also.

You won‘t notice the difference because the phone is too small, even with a Max Pro. Apple and Samsung both love to spec up their devices pixel wise, because people like the OP will pay the extra money for a feature that is not really usable or practical on a phone.

I have the s20 ultra and I had the xperia mk2 which was 4k and was worried the iPhone 11 pro max which I have coming tomorrow would look a bit pixilated or not as chrisp so this won't hopefully be the case?

Thanks for the reply

Also will the a13 be good enough for the next year or so

Your new phone screen will be crisp and clear, and it will run iOS 13 and iOS 14+ just fine.

The a13 chipset will be good for the next 5-6 years, apple has the best chipsets in the business.

You'll also get iOS releases for the next 5-6 years, unlike android where you might be lucky to get 2 software releases.

Thanks guys I got the s20 ultra with all the hype but I feel my note 10 plus I had took better pictures and was a better device on the whole also here in the uk we get exyonos which I've heard nothing but bad things and it does indeed get hot while charging and using the camera

I've watched reviews etc about the iPhone camera its meant to be one of the best even still in 2020

Also I use YouTube varied for android (no ads ect) is there anything like that for ios without jailbraking?

Also is the a13 better then the exyonos 990 and even the snapdragon 865?

Its going to be my first ios device so going to be a learning curve lol but also heard that games and apps just work better on ios compared to android also

IMO apps do look better on IOS. They just seem more polished and developers certainly do care more when it comes to IOS apps

I only have 14 on my iPad, I can definitely notice difference but it's between 1080p avc and 1080p vp9, I think Youtube transcode vp9 videos with better bitrate? comparing 1080p and 4K though, I can't see any difference really.

It’s never a good idea to compare chipsets across the platforms as they seem to be used differently, but yes, the A13 seems to still get the best benchmark scores.

Honestly though between my old XS Max and my current 11 Pro Max, you enjoy these phones for just how fast and smooth they are and forget about all the benchmarks and all that.

Many people are still using the older iPhone 6s Plus from 2015 happily with the latest iOS.

your photos will be uploaded to the cloud in full quality. iCloud photos have a feature to save storage.

it’s called optimized storage, if your running out of storage it’ll lower the resolution of photos on your phone, then you can download them in full quality from the cloud on your device.

You don’t have to use optimized photos, you can leave that feature turned off.

Thanks unfortunately I have the exyonos version at the moment and I don't often game my son went on fortnite on my s20 ultra and my partner went on her iphone 11 pro max and the iphone ran a lot smoother although the graphics looked a little better on the s20 ultra

I was just after taking all my photos off my pc and putting them on icloud as I like to have them on my device but the iphone doesn't have a sd card slot so was thinking of the clout just didn't want to loos no quality as I've heard on some cloud storages they lower the quality slightly
