YouTube autoplay in Safari

My Safari (v.9.1) prevents a Youtube video from starting unless I have that tab in focus. For me, this is annoying because I want music to play in the YouTube tab while I'm reading something on another tab. I don't want to have to go to YouTube, wait for the video to get going, then go back to what I was doing. Is there any way I can force the videos to load and play regardless of where my focus is?
