Anyone else suffering the same when skipping through YouTube videos where the buffered part of the video jumps back and forth multiple times? Making the vid stop and stuttering?

I feel like it started with 14.5

Do you have any ad blocker installed? Try without it.

Recent thread about "ad blocker for Safari block YouTube ads"
https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...-safari-block-youtube-ads-these-days.2429942/
I have YouTube premium so I disabled ad blocker on YouTube all together.
Iv always used the same ad blocker for years with no issue , also I haven't installed any other programs in ages so its not that either.

EDIT I have another Mac, a MBA M3 and its doing the same thing on that

This is the issue iv been having. You can see the buffered part going crazy, the video freezes and the full band width of my internet is being used.

Since you started the thread in July, Sonoma 14.6, 14.6.1, 14.7; Safari 17.6, 18, & 18.0.1 have been released.
Is it still happening on the latest version of Sonoma & Safari?
If it still does, it might be a networking issue.
If enabled, turn off Hide IP address in Safari https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/sfri35610/
and turn of Private Relay https://support.apple.com/102022
Im on 15.0.1 and its still happening.

It has nothing to do with either of those things as it just suddenly started to happen when no settings or anything were even changed. I do reboots to my home network every few months for years to keep things running, and it started happening weeks after I restarted the router so it wasn't that.

It only happens when I skip back the video.

This is also happening to me for few months now and right now I'm on 14.7 Sonoma with Safari 18.0.1
I also do have YT Premium so no ad-block issue.

Sonoma 14.7, Safari 18.0.1, MBA M1

same issue here, annoys me to no end.

However, I will not be switching to anything chromium based where they keep shoving popups regarding new features whenever the browser wants to grab your attention.
