Youtube - Flash problem

I was able to watch Youtube videos until a few days ago. It's not something that I do a lot but it's so annoying when I cant. I have OSX 10.5.8

On the youtube page, I get the message saying I need to install the latest version of Flash to view videos. They work with firefox.

I uninstalled the flash player I had and reinstalled the new one 3 times, still doesn't work.

I did a little homework and saw the fix that removes the following plugin:

NP-PPC-Dir-Shockwave

...But I don't seem to have it. I looked at my cookies but don't see the one which was apparently bad.

I'm at a loss here. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

This will indirectly address your problem... install the Youtube5 extension and it will make YouTube play all videos in HTML5. Works great.

Well that gets them working form the youtube site (badly -choppy video but sound is ok), but embedded videos in facebook still don't work at all?
