Ever since I updated to 8.3 I've had the youtube app launch as soon as I open the macrumors bookmark on my homescreen. Anyone else experiencing this?

iPhone 6+
64 GB
iOS 8.3

I can't replicate it right now. Will keep looking, but let us know if anybody can pin down a specific article that's causing it. Thanks.

just started today for me in both iP6 and iPad Air 2, both using Safari and 8.3...though was fine for several days. completely ruins the MR experience. Can only get to MR from rMBP safari

Same here - It's some dodgy code in an advert I reckon. Happens on the homepage, opens YouTube but often makes it hang. No specific video.

Are all affected people launching via a home screen bookmark? That seems to be the reason...some kind of bug in iOS 8.3.

May not be doing it right now because we don't have any YouTube embeds on the front page of mobile site.

Yes I was / am launching from a bookmark on my home screen. Seems to be ok again now.

We've removed a meta tag that was causing the issue (wasn't causing it prior to 8.3, so something changed in how it was being handled). If anyone is still having the issue, delete and re-add the home screen bookmark and you should be good to go.

Not good to go. I have tried this many times and am still having the same problem. Today I was sent to the YouTube video of the girl trying to break the apple watch as soon as I tried to launch the site from the home screen bookmark.

I am on an iPhone 6+ on iOS 8.3. There was some carrier setting update recently? Could that have anything to do with it? I really like the version of the site that the bookmark on the homes teen provides. I get the iOS feed on and the home screen feed all in one so I do not miss anything. My visits to macrumors has gone down every day because of how cumbersome it is to get to the site and less user friendly the version is in safari. Getting this fixed would be great!

You're the first person I've heard saying deleting and re-adding the home screen bookmark doesn't work, so I'm not sure what's going on. I'll have our developers look at it again tomorrow.

i tested this on my ip6 (vz) on 8.2 and after upgrading to 8.3 and cannot reproduce the previous error of youtube vids launching. are you sure you removed all bookmarks? including ones that are not on the home screen? can you clear your history and try again?
