This is happening on 2 Apple TVs. Once is the current generation and one the previous. Youtube TV requires multiple attempts to launch. Once launched it runs fine. I'll click on it to launch from the home screen and get a black screen. Go back to home and try again, sometimes it launches, sometimes it doesn't. It seems to help if I move the curser off of the Youtube TV logo and then back. I've had no problem launching other apps, and again, this is happening on two separate Apple TVs. Weird and probably a software issue but I sure can't find anything that would be causing this. Anyone experience this or have any clues? Thanks!

There have been several times in the last few days where Youtube seems to have been down. Or at least I couldn't reach it. I saw what you described, then tried the app and the website on my phone and iPad and nothing could reach Youtube at all. There have been times where it's just down and others where it's very sporadic, where I can't get into the app, and a minute or two later I can.

Sounds like your ATV might need a good force restart. If you have not already done so I'd suggest just pulling the plug for a few seconds then plug it back in.

Also, if you haven't already tried it, and that doesn't help, deleting and reinstalling the app is always a good trouble shooting step.

Yes, I've had this on and off for a long time now and I haven't been able to detect any patter/trigger. I double click the home button and then force quit the app, which fixes, but is annoying

That's it. I've tried a hard restart of the Apple TV. I've also tried deleting and reinstalling the Youtube TV app. We have a roku on one of our TVs and it's never done this. If I move the curser off the Youtube TV app, then back to the Youtube TV app it usually starts. And I've done the double click home, close app, then restart and it usually restarts. Also happens if I try to launch it with Siri. I've not had this happen with any other app. Sorry you're having the same issue. I've tried to do searches but haven't seen anyone else mention the issue. Not a huge deal but annoying, and very weird.

Could be app glitch (stuck on cache) or memory leak (when all apps cache constantly update itself to RAM without request; or malfunction between current tvOS and the app)
Maybe (at least on one TV) disabling some Apple TV options and restricting network access for other devices could be helpful

@SkiHound2 - I have the exact same issue with mine and have to quite a while. I've just become used to it and move off the app, then back. Like you said, not a big deal, but not sure why it's happening. I've done all the delete and restart stuff but it keeps happening. Just chiming in to add another confirmation of your issue.

Kind of glad to hear I'm not the only one who has experienced this. If it's a general issue I'd think it would be more widely known. Seems to work fine after it's launched. I've tried the restarting, deleting the app and reinstalling, etc., and that's made no difference.
