Whenever i upload a video to youtube, it stops about halfway through or part way through and literally STOPS. the progress bar just wont move or change. it is very frustrating. i use a wireless connection, and even when i literally sit right next to the wireless box, the problem occurs, the videos have ranged from 5 mins to 10 mins. it has occured on both safari and firefox. help!

It might be your ISP interrupting the upload, but have you tried restarting the computer?

Do you have a different computer you can try?

@r.j.s

the problem has been ongoing for about 3 days now, i have restarted, could it have something to do with disks being put to sleep? i am uploading the file from an external hard drive .

what could be wrong with the ISP?

It could be, but I don't really think so. You could try copying the file to the internal drive before uploading it.

Some ISPs don't like large amounts of upstream traffic and will interrupt the connection. I don't know if that is the case, just a possibility.

@r.j.s
the file is fairly large, (700 MB) 6 minutes ... something there?

OP, going back to the ISP ...

Have you been able to upload videos of this size before? How many in the past month or so ... total size? 5GB? 10GB?

@r.j.s

i determined that it must be a problem with my ISP because i uploaded the video at school today on that network.

any ideas on how to handle the ISP problem?
