Why would they not use the same speakers in all of the MBPs? Apple just makes some of the weirdest decisions.
Well, so could you tell me which one was the quietest ? ... i am planning tout buy a new mbp (i've ordered the 8thgen first but the order has been canceled so i can still make a different choice). I would like to buy the quietest for regular tasks...That was the case with prior years 2 port vs 4 port as well so that's not surprising.

Sorry, not buying it. All of the 13inch models should have the same speakers.Space and tech evolves. Sonic dynamics/limitations of the Air, 13" & 16" MBP are all completely different therefore no one speaker can serve all...
Q-6
So the low end 13” should have woofers that project through solid metal?Sorry, not buying it. All of the 13inch models should have the same speakers.

I'm guessing that sounded better in your head.So the low end 13” should have woofers that project through solid metal?
The dual fan 10gen is more quiet under all normal situations, but both are fairly quiet anyway.Well, so could you tell me which one was the quietest ? ... i am planning tout buy a new mbp (i've ordered the 8thgen first but the order has been canceled so i can still make a different choice). It sounds like you want the MacBook Air. If you're just doing general computing the battery will last longer and it will be quieter.Well, so could you tell me which one was the quietest ? ... i am planning tout buy a new mbp (i've ordered the 8thgen first but the order has been canceled so i can still make a different choice). Interestingly, 8th gen stays cooler most often (so perhaps the single fan does a better job?) and is quieter in the cinebench test. Seems the watt draw of the 10th gen requires the dual fan at the higher frequencies. It maybe that when they're both running flat out, the dual fan probably is noisier given there is 2 of them, but takes longer to require both to be full rpm.
This is a in-depth video on every difference, including fan noise and heat.
TLDR; The fans on the 10gen does a better job and stay more quiet in almost all most scenarios.
You’ll rarely hear the fans go off on the MacBook Pro 13 inch models.
I hear mine too - like a drone on my desk! I think some of the video conferencing software is designed for certain processors. My 2018 6-CORE i7 MBP spins up it's fan on every call after about 5-10 minutes, but the 2020 i3 macbook air takes more like 30 minutesMy 2018 I can hear them daily, video calls seem a prime culprit!

Not according to the temp recordings on the you tube reviewers such as max tech...Yeah the 10th Gen seems to run cooler from a few threads on here....

Sorry just to be clear - in the video above of max tech - he is comparing the 2020 MBP with 8th gen and 10th gen processors. The 10th Gen seems to run hotter, but then has dual fans to cope. It appears that the 10th gen is quieter most of the time - except when under heavy load then it is louder. So did they say they ran hotter than 2018/19 models??
