Has anyone else run into any issues running Yubico Authenticator and YubiKey Manager on an M1 Mac?

As far as I can tell, Yubico doesn't have any native versions of their apps available.

I can run the apps without issue on Big Sur on an old Intel Macbook Air. The Yubico apps can't detect the YubiKeys on my M1 Macbook Pro but I have no issues using YubiKeys with Chrome on the same machine and they show up in the System Report as expected.

I sent a support request off to Yubico and will be sure to follow up here with whatever their response is.

I'm curious about this too. I purchased my YubiKey during the Black Friday sale, but I haven't even opened it after hearing that it had issues working on M1 Mac.

During the wait for an initial response over the holidays, I happened perform a clean re-install of Big Sur to try to address some stability issues I had encountered with my M1 Macbook Pro. I never got around to re-installing and testing the Yubico apps again until I received a response from Yubico support last week.

To my surprise, the clean install fixed my issues with the apps. I am now able to see my YubiKeys in both Yubico Authenticator and YubiKey Manager. I didn't have to engage in any troubleshooting with Yubico support.

Hi, I would like to start install & enable my Yubico 5c Key on my MB Air M1 running Big Sur 11.1. Any know issues?

Well, I just tried to install the Yubikey Manager for Mac on my Macbook Pro M1 pro running 13.5. The error msg just states it did not install successfully. I can find no other posts on Google that are responsive to this question. My thought is the MAC needs some library that isn't available or that the OS security prevents installation.

Thoughts??

Maybe you need to install the Authenticator first - are you installing from the Apple App store?
