Help!

I think I may be out of luck, but maybe a genius can figure this out for me.

I'm playing Wind Waker with my Wii U hooked up to a computer monitor, via a HDMI-->DVI conversion cable...so there is no sound being carried to the monitor.

That has never been a problem before, because I can just stick my headphones into the GamePad, and I get the sound that way.

For some reason, Wind Waker, when I'm playing on my monitor, won't play sound out through the GamePad (that I have found).

It *will* play the sound out through the GamePad when I have the display on the GamePad itself.

??? Is there a solution, or am I screwed? I want to play it on the big screen! It is gorgeous!

So many games mirror exactly the same audio, some games however will have a different audio track on the GamePad and the TV.

There is some good news. The latest OS update (4.0), which came out a few days ago added a new feature that lets you output video via the HDMI cable and output sound via the RCA cables. Dig up some old Wii RCA cables and output that sound to some speakers etc.

I hope this answers your questions. Wind Waker HD is wonderful and the audio is just as great as the new visuals!

Wow, really? Because I wasn't even going to bother with trying to hook up my old audio cables...ok, time to dig through the closet...

It WORKED!:D:D:D

You sir, are a genius!

I just dug up my old Wii component video cables, hooked them into a speaker adaptor thingee, then went to the Wii U menu, under audio, told the Wii U I had both HDMI and audio cables out, and BAM! Out came audio...

OK, now I'm back at Outset island, hurrying to my Grandma's house, because I just woke up and forgot about my birthday :)

Good to hear - that was something that bothered me too with my projector setup - caused me to buy a new HDMI equipped receiver

Ok, finding it hard to make time for WindWaker this weekend...on top of it all, I appear to be more "rhythmically-challenged" than I remember.

Of course, it didn't help that it took me 10 min. to figure out I had to play the 4/4th's time melody twice...sheesh

Otherwise, the game is better than the original, and the original was pretty darn good!
