I downloaded Zeppelin but all of the icons only show up white. I downloaded a beats by dre icon set with all different colors and they are all still white. The batman icon that comes with Zeppelin isn't black, it's white also..

Anyone know what's going on or what I'm doing wrong?

Ok so how come I see other screen shots of springboards and there are color icons? Most of the icon packs in Cydia are colored icons. So all icons being white/grey is a feature that can't be turned off?

In my personal experience some of the icons will show up the way you describe them and some will show up in color. For example I'm using an Apple logo, the sort of rainbow looking one, and it shows up in color. Others I have tried have shown up just as you described even though they appeared to be colored in Cydia. I don't know why some show up in color and some don't though.

Yeah, it's definitely not supposed to work like that. It's annoying to find a logo you like and then have it not show up the way it's supposed to. I assume it has something to do with how the logos are made as to whether they will display correctly not..

Oh well, I thought you were talking about the stock zeppelin icons.
Do you have any theme on winterboard?

In iOS 6 the lack of color is normal. It's still capable of displaying color but the status bar changes in the new OS means the color versions of the default icons aren't being used. (An exception would be the superman logo)

That's because each icon actually has a folder which several versions of the icon depending on the type of status bar being used, so that they blend in with the theme. And since there's one type of status bar that no longer exists, the icons associated with it is never being displayed. Same reason why we don't see blue signal bars or green battery icons anymore.
Reason why superman logo shows color is that all versions of that logo are in color so no matter what status bar is used, they are all the same.

You can actually get the color versions to show by renaming the files so that the color icons get picked despite the black and white status bar.

If you use iFile or iExplorer on your computer, browse to Library/Zeppelin and all the logos are there. As you will see, there are several files for each. I'd take the color ones and duplicate them while using the naming conventions.

But it's more complicated than that because you may need to use transparent backgrounds for some and non-transparent for others.

    Here's a more detailed explanation:

black(@2x).png – This image is displayed when the status bar is black, generally on the Springboard.
etched(@2x).png – This image is displayed by Zeppelin when Notification Center is active.
silver(@2x).png – Displayed when the status bar is silver, generally meaning an application is active.

Have you tried taking the "silver" ones, duplicating them (twice) and renamed them for etched and black? The silver ones are the colored ones and they only work on the old status bar that was removed in iOS 6.
