Sounds like he's done all the work already between the skunkworks project, the official project and now the unofficial one outside Apple.
 
Hope it works. This would be fantastic to combine with the mac mini server. Use one internal SSD for the OS and another for L2ARC and add a thunderbolt extension. And optional a thunderbolt dual gigabit port. Would really be a hell of a NAS with link aggregation ...
